I had an aptitude test at MICA (Ministry of Information, Communication and the Arts). This was for a position to be filled in at the Public Relations Academy, which is a department of MICA.
I got a call in the late afternoon the same day, telling me I have been shortlisted for an interview on thursday (tomorrow). The HR fella told me over the phone that he will email me the format of the interview. I was slightly puzzled. What format was he talking about. Isn't an interview, I sit down, infront of a panel of interviewers, and get bombarded with questions pertaining to every aspect of my life.
Horror, when I opened up my email account.
MICA's interview process was to be:
Be there 345pm, I will be led to a preparation room with a handout. Within an hour, I am to do a 5 page presentation. Following that, then I will present what I have done in that hour to the panel of interviewers. Then it will be the Q&A of my life story. Gaaahhh...
Oh well, lets see how it goes tomorrow. HOOWAHH!
If I ever get to be an interviewer, I'll do the same, tekan the poor miserable soul who's coming in for an interview, heh.
On another front, I just emailed MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) my application for a Foreign Service Officer; in a nut shell, to be a foreign diplomat in another country. the HR department called me back and verified with me if my Honours grade was pending.
I said yes.
MFA HR dept said: Ok, email us when you know the results, then we'll talk (not so rude la the lady, but thats the jist of it). such arrogance! MFA did not bother even considering me for an interview after reading my grandmother grandfather story in the application form (mind you, they asked for the stories).
Wait till my results get back... hope all goes well though. Then I can show MFA a thing or two. well maybe its 'a' thing only, considering they are only interested in my grades only.
baah. welcome to the civil service ladies and gentlemen.
