On tuesday (or was it monday) evening, I had dinner with Sandra and James. While passing by this sugarcane juice stall, I heard a very interesting remark by the owner, who was reading his evening paper.
'wah, sing gah poh idol you si ma lai ren na dao ah? wei she me ann neh kuan...'
quite funny to hear about it on the spot.
But think about that remark deeper, the implications of that. Ranging from the future media viewership of the idol series, to the more serious racial innotations involved.
ponder ponder.
These are very real issues on the ground, which quite possible he is not the only one espousing. Such remarks made may not mean any harm, but one has to be very careful when passing such comments.
Racial harmony is very delicate in Singapore. Treasure and cherish it.
